<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine for enjoying a mini-game on a display device while a game ball remains stored on an upper tray. <P>SOLUTION: In this machine, which includes an operation handle (24) for operating a shooting device and a variable display device (41) able to vary display content, and generates a special game mode according to a result of a variable display game, control means (100, 300) include: a screen switching means of switching the display content on the variable display device (41) to a standby screen when no execution rights of the variable display game is generated for a predetermined period of time; and a screen display control means of controlling display on the standby screen.
