An electrically conducting layer comprising sol-gel derived network and an electrically conducting polymer comprising poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) and a sulfonated polymer incorporated within the network. Films are generated exhibiting good electrical conductivity with high resistance to substrate delamination and a high degree of transparency. The sulfonated polymer may be poly(styrene sulfonate) PSS or sulfonated poly(amic acid) (SPAA) or sulfonated poly(imide) (SPI). The coating may be for use in an optoelectronic device, in which it may be configured as an electrode. The coating may further comprise a corrosion inhibitor. Curing of the coating may be performed at a temperature below 100oC, and the network may comprise polysiloxane. The coating may further comprise silica based particles, naofibres or nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes or graphene. |
