<p>An organic light emitting diode display comprising: a switching transistor ST (figure 10) and a driving transistor DT (figure 10), a data line DL (figure 10), a scan (gate) line SL (SLP in figure 10) and a driving current line VDD defining a pixel area on a substrate; an anode electrode ANO formed within the pixel area and a bank (BANK) defining a light emitting area; a capacitance formed by overlapping portions of the anode electrode with portions of the driving current line; an organic emission layer formed on the anode electrode; and a cathode electrode formed on the organic light emitting layer. The increased capacitance increases the luminescence of the light emitting region. In the claimed embodiment (figure 11) two light emitting regions have anode sections above a single driving current line. In one embodiment a colour filter CF is disposed below the pixel anode. In a further embodiment a storage capacitance is formed between the anode and a gate electrode of the driving transistor.</p> |
