<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly start an overriding vehicle such as a motorcycle, an irregular land running vehicle, and the like. <P>SOLUTION: This start controller includes: a beginning condition determining part 31 for determining whether a start control beginning condition including a condition that a vehicle 1 is in a state before start hold trues; a storage part 32 for beforehand storing a target value of revolutions per minute of a running power generating source 10 upon start control; a start control part 34 for executing start control of controlling revolutions per minute of the running power generating source 10 to turn into the target value when it is determined that the start control beginning condition holds true by the beginning condition determining part 31; and a clutch state determining part 33 for determining an operating state of a clutch 17 provided halfway in a power transfer route 15 from the running power generating source 10 to a drive wheel 2b.
