A weighing device suitable for weighing luggage has a plurality of luggage mounting surfaces 112, 114, 116, 118, on weighing members 102, 104 each of which can measure the weight of luggage mounted thereon. The device has a pair of extendable, telescopic side members 106, 108 that join with the luggage mounting members forming a frame that can be collapsed. When in the collapsed state, the device is shaped such that it can be used as a coat hanger 132. The device has a control unit 134 with a processor that calculates the weight of the luggage placed upon it and can transmit the weight data to an external device to be displayed. Preferably the external device has internet capability so that the maximum luggage capacity can be compared to the weight of the luggage. |
