<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-resistant blend fiber including a thermoplastic polyetherimide and a main chain type liquid crystal resin, which has excellent mechanical properties, heat resistance, flame retardancy, dyeability, low smoke evolution and the like; and to provide a heat-resistant fabric. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention provides the heat-resistant blend fiber including a polymer blend of a thermoplastic polyetherimide and a main chain type liquid crystal resin. The polyetherimide and the main chain type liquid crystal resin are each present in a discontinuous form in the fiber. The heat-resistant fiber has performance of a single fiber strength of 3.0 cN/dtex or more and a dry heat shrinkage of 3% or less at 220°C.
