An integrated mechanical and electrical connector 100, 414 for connecting printed circuit boards (PCBs) 402, 404 comprises: an outer member 102, 410 defining a first bore; and an inner member 104, 406 that is at least partially disposed within the first bore. The inner member 104, 406 is in an interference-fit relationship with the outer member 102, 410 at the periphery of the first bore. The connector 100, 414 is configured to be mechanically and electrically connected to a PCB 402, 404 by at least one of: solder reflow, wave soldering and press-fitting. The inner member 104, 406 and the outer member 102, 410 may be cylindrical with the outer member having an annular cross-section. The outer member 102, 410 defines a second bore 106 which may be configured to receive solder. The inner member 104, 406 may be an electric conductor made of copper or having an electrically conductive plating layer. The outer member 102, 410 may be a thermal conductor made of steel. |
