A labeling apparatus introduces a line of weakness 10 between labels on a label substrate, between a locating means and an application means. In other terms the line of weakness is applied proximate the applicator. The line of weakness is formed by a laser 8. The proximity of the line of weakness 10 forming step to the applicator may mean that there is less time for the substrate to undesirably break, as opposed to having introduced the line of weakness, upstream, earlier on in the process. |
