PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To capture a "miniaturized photograph" image of a digital camera, and obtain a distinct effect.SOLUTION: A system control unit 29 reads out a set content at power-on, and determines "user setting" or "automatic setting" during a "miniaturized photographing" process. During the "user setting," a shading-off process is applied in a set shade-off region and monitoring is executed, and, upon a shade-off region change request, a setting screen is entered into, in which monitoring is executed in a changed shade-off region. Further, a subject detection mode is checked, and, during a face detection mode, a face is detected from within the angle of view and subjected to focal processing, and then, upon moving of the face to within the shade-off region, detection is aborted. During the "automatic setting", monitoring is executed centering an AF region subjected to AF processing by a first release as a center of a region of interest and its periphery as a shade-off region. Upon pressing of a second release, a main image is transferred from a CCD/CMOS unit 20 to an image processing unit 25 and expanded into a memory unit 26 by shutter control from a monitoring process, and regions other than the subject being in focus are shaded off, whereby an effect is obtained.
|
