摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthesis method of a photocatalyst having p-type semiconductor characteristics, a photocatalyst electrode, a hydrogen generating apparatus using the same, and a hydrogen generation method. <P>SOLUTION: The synthesis method of the photocatalyst is characterized in that the photocatalyst comprising a composite metal sulfide is synthesized by mixing Cu<SB POS="POST">2</SB>S, Ag<SB POS="POST">2</SB>S, ZnS and GeS<SB POS="POST">2</SB>so as to be a molar ratio of x:(1-x):ä(100+y)/100}:ä(100+y)/100} (wherein (x) is 0.5≤x≤1 and (y) is 5≤y≤30) and firing the resulting mixture. The photocatalyst electrode has the photocatalyst comprising a composite metal sulfide expressed by composition formula (1) and shows p-type semiconductor characteristics.
