<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station and a base station control method which can prevent a terminal from uselessly handing off to the local station while the location station is congested. <P>SOLUTION: When a standby request is received from a terminal which has received a pilot beacon transmitted by the local station, a femtocell FAP pulls the terminal into the communication frequency of the local station, keeping the terminal waiting at the communication frequency of the local station. The femtocell FAP determines whether the number of terminals standing by at the femtocell exceeds a preset upper limit on the number of standby terminals. If the number of terminals currently standing by is greater than the upper limit on the number of standby terminals, the femtocell stops transmitting the pilot beacon, so that no more other terminals will hand off to the local station. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
