<p>A user note 124 input into an electronic flight bag 102 is mapped to a flight chart identifier. The same identifier is associated with a replacement flight chart corresponding to an updated version of the flight chart. Alternatively a computer system stores a data structure 126, 128 wherein flight charts have distinct flight chart identifiers and version identifiers and wherein user notes are associated with flight charts using respective flight chart identifiers. Each user note is thus automatically associated with all versions of a flight chart and need not be recreated during flight chart update. A display of the flight chart may include an indicator (424, Fig.6) allowing associated transparent notes (501-612, Fig.6) to be overlaid, edited or deleted.
