[Class 20 (iv)] A floor, roof, or like structure is supported on a corrugated troughing A, B of asbestoscement or similar material, with the interposition of felt or other flexible insulating strips E between the crowns of the corrugations and the underside of the structure, and screws F or other fastening devices pass through the said strips E for securing the structure to the troughing. The troughing A, B, which may be reinforced and provided with flattened crowns and bases, is supported on girders or joists. The floor or roof structure may consist of sheets or boards of wood, metal or asbestoscement, with a covering of bitumen, asphalt, metal (when the structure is not of metal) or tiles. The roof structure shown in the drawing comprises roofing sheets C, D, three layers G of waterproof fabric, and concrete tiles H faced with asbestos - cement J. The tiles H are grooved at K and bedded in mastic M. In the case of floors, the sheets C, D and the superposed elements are supported by boarding. Specification 402,642 is referred to.</p> |
