<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-touch panel device capable of reducing a processing load on a system and an application (software). <P>SOLUTION: A multi-touch panel device includes: a touch panel whose input surface for receiving touch input is divided into plural areas; and a detector 110 for individually detecting the touch input in each of the plural areas. The detector 110 limits the detection of the touch input in accordance with individual setting K1 for each of the plural areas. Thus, the multi-touch panel device can limit positional information to be output to a system and an application (software) using the device by area.
