The present invention relates to a method for preparing adipic acid using microorganism variants where genes for coding acyl-CoA oxidase which converts fatty acids to acetyl-CoA are deleted and, more specifically, to a method for preparing adipic acid from palm sludge oil using microorganism variants where genes for coding acyl-CoA oxidase are deleted. According to the present invention, it is effective in preparing adipic acid from inexpensively various oils as palm sludge oil in the case of using microorganism variants.
