<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst which does not contain a noble metal, stably exists in a high temperature atmosphere at or above 300°C and demonstrates catalytic activity more excellent at least than Ni, and to provide a method of manufacturing the exhaust gas cleaning catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas cleaning catalyst comprises an intermetallic compound which is any one kind of Ni<SB POS="POST">3</SB>Ti, Ni<SB POS="POST">3</SB>Nb and Ni<SB POS="POST">5</SB>Y, and is particularly excellent as the one for CO purification. The method of manufacturing the exhaust gas cleaning catalyst includes: a first step of mixing, dissolving and casting Ni and an element selected from 3, 4 and 5 groups of the periodic table with electronegativity lower than Ni to produce an ingot; a second step of executing homogenizing heat treatment to the ingot; and a third step of mechanically pulverizing the ingot to which the homogenizing heat treatment is executed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
