A rigid frame (2, figure 1) suitable for attachment to a lorry loadbed, which is readily fastened to and removed from the load bed by means of a plurality of conventional ISO twistlock connectors. The frame is provided with male and/or female 10, 10 connector components for releasable attachment to co-operating female and/or male connector components provided on the lorry loadbed. The frame further has mounted thereon a loading/unloading crane 20 with an extendible jib arm 22 rotatable in at least one plane through 360 degrees, which is suitable for loading or unloading the loadbed. Preferably the frame has two longitudinal members 4, 4 and is securable to the loadbed solely by means of ISO twistlock connectors, the crane has an integral source of electrical power (e.g. small generator). The crane may be readily removable and easily mountable on a lorry bed of another lorry within a vehicle fleet. |
