<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable for detaching an optical fiber unit from a slot core without generating any loss fluctuation, and for preventing the optical fiber unit from falling from the slot core in the case of cable manufacturing. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable is configured such that an optical fiber unit 2 is stored in a slot groove 3 formed in a slot core 4 having a C-shaped cross section, and coated with a sheath 6. This optical fiber cable is configured such that a part of the optical fiber unit 2 is projected from the slot groove 3, and that the opening of the slot groove 3 including the portion of the optical fiber unit 2 projected from the slot groove 3 is covered with a tape 5. When the opening width of the slot groove is W, and the diameter of the optical fiber unit is Ud, and the diameter of the slot groove is D, and a distance from the opening top end of the slot groove to the bottom of the slot groove is S1, a relation that 0.66Ud≤W≤D, and 0.49Ud≤S1≤1.0Ud is established. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
