<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that can be reduced in size, is small in a circuit area, low in power consumption, highly reliable in the operation of a memory part, and low in cost. <P>SOLUTION: In the display device in which a data holding circuit 3 having capacity and a display part 4 having a plurality of pixels are formed on a first support substrate 1, the pixels are provided with the respective pixel electrodes, and a second support substrate 2 opposite to the first support substrate 1 is provided. On a surface of the second support substrate 2 on the side of the first support substrate 1, no conductor films 8 are present in an area opposite to a data holding circuit 3.
