[Class 100 (iv).] Attaching machines to baseboards.-The base of a portable-typewriter case is provided with centring-pins for engaging the feet of the typewriter and with securing-means such as levers for engaging the opposite sides of the frame of the typewriter. The case comprises a baseportion A and a cover B. Two metal strips 12 are riveted to the base portion and on each is mounted a pair of pins 14, and a pair of levers 15, pivoted at 16. On each lever is a small projection adapted to engage in an aperture 22 in the strip 12 when the lever is in inoperative position.. The levers have finger-pieces 20 and catch-portions 18, which are adapted to engage down-bent portions 30, 28 on the typewriter frame C, the portion 28 being part of a hold-down bar 26 riveted to the base-member 24 of the typewriter. On the frame are mounted foot-lugs 31, on which are mounted rubber pads 32 and which have holes 34 in which engage the pins 14. A rubber pad 36 is positioned in the cover B so as to engage the platen knob 35 when the case is closed and assist the pins and levers in holding the typewriter in position. |
