The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for overcoming motion sickness in virtual environments by using a riding type Stewart platform in order to solve side effects (motion sickness or the like), generated by an image transmitted through an imaging device including a head mounted display for displaying three-dimensional space information to a passenger, by using the riding type Stewart platform. The apparatus for overcoming motion sickness in virtual environments by using the riding type Stewart platform comprises a driving device, and a controlling device. The driving device: forms a wireless communications channel with a remote driving device; receives operation information to control the driving device through a corresponding wireless communications channel to be operated; and transmits image information, body slope information, and direction information according to a work environment and an operation. The controlling device: controls the angle and the slope of the Stewart platform through an absolute coordinate system by using the slope information, the image information, and the image direction information of the driving device received from the driving device; and controls the driving device through the operation information of an operating unit. The present invention is provided to correct the position of the Stewart platform according to the direction of an image by using the Stewart platform capable of performing 6 degrees of freedom for changing the image displayed on the head mounted display according to a passenger operating direction, and thus prevent dizziness, motion sickness, and the like caused by image changes. Therefore, a user can be supported to carry out more detailed and smoother work as the apparatus of the present invention enables the user to work in a work environment identical to a field work environment. |
