The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising sinefungin as an active ingredient for preventing or treating infectious diseases caused by a biofilm and a coating composition for inhibiting formation of a biofilm. The pharmaceutical composition and the coating composition according to the present invention have an excellent antibiotic effect and an excellent efficacy which inhibits formation of a biofilm, and thus can be helpfully used in a coating composition for preventing or treating various infectious diseases caused by a biofilm and for inhibiting a biofilm formed in various medical devices, medical materials or a medical transplant or the like.
