The method of producing alkyl esters of phenanthrene-9-carboxylic acid of formula, where R=CH, CH, n-CH, n-CH, includes reacting phenanthrene with CCland an alcohol (methanol, ethanol, n-propanol, n-butanol) in the presence of iron acetyl acetonate in molar ratio [Fe(acac)]:[phenanthrene]:[CCl]:[alcohol]=5-15:100:500-1000:100-1000, at temperature of 130°C for 4-6 hours in an argon atmosphere. The output of methyl ester of phenanthrene-9-carboxylic acid is 74%, and the output of ethyl, n-propyl and n-butyl ester is 80%, 96% and 85%, respectively.EFFECT: high output.1 tbl
