A domestic electric appliance (washing and/or drying one) comprises a heating circuit (140) intended for heating of a liquid for washing and/or an air flow for drying and connected to a power supply system (105a, 105b) that feeds the electric appliance, at that the heating circuit includes a thermal resistor (205) connected in series to switching devices (210a, 210b) controlled by means of a control unit (125) for selective switching of the thermal resistor on when required. The switching devices are connected in series to the thermal resistor mounted between the first and second switches. The control circuit is related to the heating circuit and comprises a resistive network that includes the first resistor (R1), the thermal resistor and the second resistor (R2).
