摘要

A display device capable of displaying both a 3D image and a 2D image is provided. The display device includes a plurality of optical filter regions where light-blocking panels for producing binocular disparity are arranged in matrix. The light-blocking panel can select whether to transmit light emitted from a display panel in each of the plurality of optical filter regions. Thus, in the display device, some regions where binocular disparity is produced can be provided. Consequently, the display device can display both a 3D image and a 2D image.

1. A display device comprising:
a display panel including a plurality of pixel regions arranged in matrix and a light-blocking panel including a plurality of optical shutter regions arranged in matrix, wherein each of the plurality of the optical shutter regions includes a transistor whose channel region contains an oxide semiconductor, and a liquid crystal element whose light transmission is selected depending on a signal input through the transistor, wherein the light-blocking panel is provided in a direction in which light is emitted from the display panel, and wherein a three-dimensional image is displayed in a first region of the display device and a two-dimensional image is displayed in a second region of the display device concurrently.
