Method and apparatus for sharing media upon request via social networks

An approach is provided for determining requests for media and responding in substantially real-time utilizing a single user interface. The social network client determines one or more requests from one or more requesting users to capture media related to at least one social networking status of one or more sharing users. The social network client then causes, at least in part, an indication of the one or more requests to the one or more sharing users related to the at least one social networking status.

1. A method comprising facilitating a processing of and/or processing (1) data and/or (2) information and/or (3) at least one signal, the (1) data and/or (2) information and/or (3) at least one signal based, at least in part, on the following:
at least one determination of one or more requests initiated via a user interface from one or more requesting users to capture media related to at least one social networking status of one or more sharing users using at least one processor, wherein the user interface is further used to specify the at least one social networking status; an indication of the one or more requests to the one or more sharing users related to the at least one social networking status; and a presentation of example media to the one or more sharing users as guidance for capturing the media, wherein the example media illustrate, at least in part, recommended viewpoint information, recommended framing information, one or more recommended subjects, or a combination thereof.
