Holographic data storage device and method of making

Holographic data storage devices are presented. The holographic data storage device includes an optically transparent substrate, wherein the optically transparent substrate includes a photochemically active dye and a heat generating chromophore. Methods for making holographic data storage device are also presented.

A holographic data storage device comprising an optically transparent substrate, wherein the optically transparent substrate comprises a photochemically active dye which increases in quantum efficiency from absorbing in a range from an ultraviolet (UV) spectrum through a visible spectrum and a heat generating chromophore configured to photoexcite in response to a wavelength from approximately 300 nm to approximately 800 nm and deexcite to generate heat to increase the quantum efficiency of the photochemically active dye.
