The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method to control a nozzle of a finishing mill de-scaler. The apparatus comprises: a data inputting part which receives at least one of a rolling reduction of a workpiece or roll gap data from a higher server or a higher apparatus; an injection height calculating part which calculates the injection height (h) from a reference position to a surface of the workpiece; an injection distance calculating part which calculates the injection distance (A) from the reference position to a surface of the workpiece using a lead angle (γ) data and the injection height (h) data calculated in the injection height calculating part; an injection length calculating part which calculates the injection length (B) using data of the injection angle (α), an offset angle (β), and the injection distance (A) calculated in the injection distance calculating part; and a control part which calculates the offset angle (β) to obtain an overlap amount (D) using data of the injection angle (α), the offset angle (β), a nozzle space (E), the injection height (h), and rotates the header direction of a de-scaler nozzle in response to the offset angle (β) by controlling the nozzle header operating part. |
