Disclosed are a system and a method for providing information of interest to a user based on a data transmission function. The method for providing information of interest to a user based on a data transmission function which does not perform network communications connection comprises the following steps: receiving a discovery request message from an access point, when a user device enters a device recognition area; including information of interest to the user in a response message in response to the received discovery request message; transmitting the response message including the information of interest to the user to the access point; receiving the information of interest to the user from the access point; and providing the received information of interest to the user to the user.
