Disclosed are a mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same. The mobile terminal of the present invention: displays a circular timeline when a specific application is executed; displays a tracking path on the circular timeline in real time by sensing motions of a user according to time; and controls the tracking path to be displayed to have different display features according to the motion type of the sensed user. According to the present invention, tracking information of the user can be intuitively confirmed on the circular timeline.
