The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for detecting soft decision in a multiple-input multiple-output receiver. According to the present invention, the method comprises the following steps: detecting symbols from a signal received through a plurality of reception antennas; calculating noise of the detected symbols and noise distribution; and soft-decision-demapping the detected symbols by using the noise of the detected symbols and the noise distribution, and calculating a value of the soft decision.
