The present invention relates to data storage devices and, more particularly, to the controller for processing a job by using a descriptor, and a data storage device including the same. The controller comprises: a descriptor ID management block for allocating or de-allocating a descriptor ID; a control unit for generating a descriptor corresponding to an allocated descriptor ID by the descriptor ID management block; and an input and output unit for processing an input and output signals based on the descriptor wherein if the descriptor is processed normally, the input and output unit requests the descriptor ID management block to de-allocate the descriptor ID. In an embodiment, when the descriptor is abnormally processed, the control unit performs an error handling operation for the descriptor and thereafter, requests the ID management descriptor block to de-allocate the descriptor ID. |
