Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for transmitting data based on serial peripheral interface (SPI) communications. According to an aspect of the present embodiment, in a method in which a slave device detects an SPI operating mode, provided is a method for detecting an SPI operating mode including the following steps: deciding a clock polarity (CPOL) using a clock (CLK) and a chip select bar (CSB) received by an SPI bus; determining an edge of the CLK in which a master device is used for transmitting a master out slave in (MOSI) signal by comparing a result of decoding the MOSI signal with a pre-promised signal pattern; and deciding a clock phase (CPHASE) based on the decided CPOL and the determined edge of the CLK. |
