The method(s) include providing a nutritional composition that includes Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG), galacto-oligosaccharide(s) (GOS) and polydextrose (PDX) to the subject. The combination of LGG, GOS, and PDX may exhibit additive or synergistic beneficial health effects when consumed. The nutritional compositions herein are suitable for administration to children and infants.
