The main purpose of the present invention is to provide a high-output redox flow battery which is able to be continuously charged and discharged with a large current, while having high durability. A redox flow battery according to the present invention comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a diaphragm, and is charged and discharged by supplying a positive electrode electrolyte solution, which is composed of an aqueous sulfuric acid solution containing vanadium ions, to a positive electrode chamber and supplying a negative electrode electrolyte solution, which is composed of an aqueous sulfuric acid solution containing vanadium ions, to a negative electrode chamber. This redox flow battery is characterized in that a material obtained by coating zirconium with a noble metal is used as a positive electrode material. |
