What is described is: a modular unit (12) for an electric machine (10) which comprises a ring-shaped laminate stack (16) which is formed from a large number of axially stacked sheet-metal laminations (17), wherein the laminate stack (16) is fixed with an inner or outer cylindrical fastening section (16c) on a cylindrical receiving section (22a) of a carrier element (22), and wherein the carrier element (22) has two stops (22b, 22c), between which the laminate stack (16) is clamped axially in a force-fitting manner. It is proposed that at least one of the stops (22c) comprises a ring-shaped supporting element (24), which is arranged on the receiving section (22a) and supports the laminate stack (16) and which is fixed by means of at least one caulking region (26) on the carrier element (22).
