A method and device for a high-speed network edge cell to search a high-speed network, which relate to the technical field of terminal network search. The method comprises the steps of: by registering a low-speed network/an intermediate-speed network, acquiring, by a terminal, an identifier number of a cell of the currently registered low-speed network/intermediate-speed network; according to the identifier number of the cell of the currently registered low-speed network/intermediate-speed network, searching, by the terminal, a high-speed network coverage record of the cell; according to the found high-speed network coverage record of the cell, starting, by the terminal, a search conducted on a high-speed network; and according to the result of the search conducted on the high-speed network, determining and recording, by the terminal, a coverage condition of the cell of the currently registered low-speed network/intermediate-speed network. The embodiments of the present invention can optimize the performance of a terminal and reduce the power consumption of the terminal by reasonably adjusting the time interval of the network search of a high-speed network when the terminal is located at the edge zone covered by the high-speed network. |
