A solar energy conversion device for producing energy from sunlight is accommodated in a housing (10) with an entry window (20) and an optical system (20,30,50) for concentrating sunlight on a more limited target area (41..44). Conversion means are provided for converting energy from sunlight. The optical system comprises concentrator means (30) divided into a number of separate segments (31..34) which each capture a part of the sunlight and concentrate it at least substantially in a separate target area (41..44) corresponding thereto. The optical system (50) projects the separate target areas (41..44) of the separate segments (31..34) at least substantially fully in separate sub-areas of the optically active surface of the conversion means. |
