A liquid crystal display, comprising a display unit; the display unit comprises a first display mode and a second display mode; the pixels of the display unit consist of red, green, blue, and white subpixels; in the first display mode, the display unit drives the red, green, blue, and white subpixels; in the second display mode, the display unit drives the red, green, and blue subpixels and stops driving the white subpixels. Also provided is a method for controlling the imaging of a liquid crystal display. the display unit of the present invention comprises a first display mode and a second display mode; in the first display mode, the light transmittance of the display unit is improved, reducing the power consumption of the liquid crystal display; in the second display mode, the white subpixels are no longer driven, such that they do not emit light and form a black opaque region, preventing crosstalk of the left and right eye images and reducing the power consumption of the liquid crystal display, thus improving product competitiveness. |
