A photo-regenerable adsorbent in accordance with the present invention comprises: a porous carrier as the core; and a shell with a photocatalyst deposited on the surface of the porous carrier by atomic layer deposition. Therefore, the photo-regenerable adsorbent: is capable of adsorbing contaminants in water by acting as a porous adsorbent; exhibits higher efficiency in adsorbing the contaminants in water compared to conventional adsorbents; and is reusable as adsorption sites of the adsorbent are recycled only by light irradiation without a separate regeneration process.
