PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing ring and a method of producing a rolling bearing which enable uniform formation of a hardened layer by high frequency induction hardening, along a rolling surface throughout the whole circumference while suppressing fabrication costs of a hardening apparatus.SOLUTION: A method of producing a bearing ring of a rolling bearing includes a step (S10) of preparing a molding composed of steel, a step (S30) of forming an annular heated region heated to temperature equal to or higher than point Ain the molding by rotating relatively along a circumferential direction of an annular region, an induction heating coil which is arranged so as to face a part of the annular region serving as the rolling surface of a bearing ring in the molding and induction-heats the molding and a step (S40) of cooling the whole of the heated region simultaneously to temperature equal to or lower than point M. In the step (S30) of forming the heated region, an induction heating coil used has a shape including, in the same plane, a region facing the annular region so as to contribute to heating of the annular region. |
