PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas treatment device that can be configured to save a specific space of an exhaust gas treatment unit in a region near an engine.SOLUTION: An exhaust gas treatment device includes: a housing 30; and a second exhaust gas treatment unit 7 arranged at a distance to the housing 30 and extending into the housing 30, the housing 30 includes an opening 11 provided therein, arranged laterally to the second exhaust gas treatment unit 7, and extending laterally across at least 50 percent of the second exhaust gas treatment unit 7, and a first exhaust gas treatment unit 5 is connected to the opening 11 via a connecting portion 12.
