<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk titanium plate manufacturing method that is suitable to be used for a magnetic disk of a heat-assisted magnetic recording method, and can easily form a magnetic disk titanium plate of hardness equal to or more than Hv450, and a hardened modification layer of hardness equal to or more than Hv450 on a surface side of the titanium-made disk substrate without using expensive devices, and to provide the magnetic disk.SOLUTION: A magnetic disk titanium plate is composed of a disk substrate made up of pure titanium or a titanium alloy, and a hardened modification layer that is formed on a surface side of the disk substrate, in which oxygen density in the modification layer is equal to or 9 atom% and equal to or less than 30 atom%.</p> |
