There is provided an image processing apparatus for recording an image on a unit region of a recording medium by performing relative scanning operations, each relative scanning operation being a scanning operation of recording element groups relative to the unit region performed by using a recording head including the recording element groups, each including a different recording element. The image processing apparatus receives image data of an image to be recorded on the unit region, obtains, for each of the recording element groups, a ratio of being used for recoding the image on the unit region, and corrects the image data in accordance with the obtained ratios and recording characteristic information representing recording characteristics of the recording element groups.

An image processing apparatus for recording an image on a unit region of a recording medium by performing a plurality of relative scanning operations, each of the plurality of relative scanning operations being a scanning operation of a plurality of recording element groups relative to the unit region performed by using a recording head including the plurality of recording element groups, each including a different recording element, the image processing apparatus comprising:
an input unit configured to receive image data of an image to be recorded on the unit region; an obtaining unit configured to obtain, for each of the plurality of recording element groups, a ratio of being used for recoding the image on the unit region; and a correcting unit configured to correct the image data in accordance with the ratios obtained by the obtaining unit and recording characteristic information representing recording characteristics of the plurality of recording element groups.
