Disclosed are a positive active material for a lithium secondary battery, a manufacturing method of the same, and a lithium secondary battery including the same. An embodiment of the present invention provides the positive active material for a lithium secondary battery, including: a core containing Ni and containing a first lithium transition metal composite oxide of a layered structure; and a surface layer disposed on a surface of the core and containing a second lithium transition metal composite oxide of a layered structure wherein a cation mixed layer is formed in the core side of the surface layer.
