Disclosed is a dustbin compressing items borne in an internal space, comprising a bin housing, with mutually axisymmetric openings provided on a side wall at an upper end of the bin housing. Door plates of matching size are provided in the openings. An upper end of the door plates is in a hinged connection with the bin housing. A compression device is provided on a top face inside the bin housing. A control end of the compression device is connected to an output end of a controller, and an input end of the controller is connected to an output end of a door-opening sensing device. The door-opening sensing device is provided on the door plates. By means of the door-opening sensing device detecting the number of times the doors are opened, the controller compresses items loaded into the bin housing and frees up space. After rubbish in the bin is compressed, storage space in the rubbish bin is increased, reducing the number of times the bin needs to be replaced or cleaned, and saving on costs.
