PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sand sedimentation pond devised so that sedimentated sand can be efficiently moved to a predetermined distance.SOLUTION: A sand sedimentation pond 1 comprises: a groove formation wall 30 formed in a basin bottom for forming a groove G, in which sedimented sand deposits; a sand collecting pit 4 mounted in the basin bottom and connected to the groove G; and discharge port outlet units 5 arranged in a trough 3 and composed of one or more discharge ports for discharging a fluid from a predetermined position in the extending direction of the groove G to the groove G. The groove formation wall 30 forms the groove G such that the width of the groove G may become stepwise larger as it moves toward the sand collecting pit 4. The discharge ports 5 are so arranged in plurality as are spaced in the extending direction of the groove G. The discharge port outlet units 5 are characterized in that they discharge fluid from the individual discharge ports toward the sand collecting pit 4 faster for the units apart from the sand collecting pit 4. |
