The present invention relates to a broadcasting caption transmission apparatus for outputting caption data based on fingerprint data and, more particularly, to a broadcasting caption transmission apparatus which adds the caption data to a video/audio signal which is added to a broadcasting equipment system to be transmitted, and transmits the same. According to the present invention, the apparatus comprises: a moving image data input unit for receiving moving image data of broadcasting content which is on-air; a time fingerprint data extraction unit for extracting fingerprint data from the moving image data in real time; a caption information data storing unit for storing caption information data; a caption search unit; a caption synchronization unit for receiving time fingerprint data from the time fingerprint data extraction unit, receiving the caption information data from the caption search unit, and comparing the time fingerprint data with reference fingerprint data to synchronize the moving image data with caption data; and a caption data transmission unit for transmitting the caption data which is synchronized in the caption synchronization unit. Accordingly, the apparatus of the present invention can transmit the caption data regardless of broadcasting schedule information and time code information, can precisely transmit the caption data even if an error occurs in the broadcasting schedule information or the time code information, can use existing caption data without change even if the broadcasting content is edited, and can effectively manage the caption data. Also, a separate operator is not needed, and the caption data can be used in various broadcasting platforms without change.
