PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device for suppressing an operation delay accompanied by the stop and resumption of the supply of a power supply potential.SOLUTION: As for data held in first and second nodes in a period in which the supply of a power supply potential is continued, a potential corresponding to the data is saved to third and fourth nodes in a period in which the supply of the power supply potential is stopped. Then, after the supply of the power supply potential is resumed, the data are restored to the first and second nodes by using a change in the channel resistance of a transistor with the third or fourth node as a gate. Also, when the data are restored, connection between the power supply potential and the first or second node is made non-conductive so that through-currents can be suppressed.
