PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide reagents and methods useful in the preparation of aryl fluorides, for example, in the preparation ofF labeled radiotracers.SOLUTION: This invention provides a method for the synthesis of aryl fluorides, wherein the method for making a compound of Formula (1) comprises the steps of: reacting in a polar solvent a compound MX and a compound of Formula (2); removing the polar solvent from the reaction mixture; and heating a solution comprising the remaining mixture and a nonpolar solvent (Ar2 is an aryl or heteroaryl ring system; X is a moiety of the acid H-X with the pKa less than 12; M is a counter ion; Ar1 is an electron rich aryl or heteroaryl ring system; and Y is a leaving group). |
